Corporate Verse: Proverbs 16:3

B. Keith Chapman, President & CEO

Each of us go through life with a general philosophy and set of operating values.  Our decisions and behaviors are guided by our desire to follow this philosophy and adhere to the values we feel are most important.  As life gets challenging and stressful, we can sometimes find ourselves operating outside of our core values. The truth is, what we say and do matters and has a greater impact on our future than we may recognize.  Establishing core values and an operating philosophy that aligns with a strategy of success is important.  As we enter a new year, we should take the opportunity to revisit our plans and set ourselves up for a successful year.

Ten-8 has established a set of core values that we feel is important to infuse into our company’s interactions and decision making.  Ten-8 uses the acronym RAPID to help us identify and remember these values: Reliable, Accountable, Professional, Integrity, Dedicated.  Each of these values serve as expectations for our team members’ decisions and behaviors.  Our core values also align with our mission of service to others.  Our philosophy and values are rooted in a strong biblical foundation that has existed since the establishment of our company over 35 years ago.  We attribute the success of our company and team members to God’s blessing on our actions, as we strive to align them with biblical truths.  This does not mean that our company or each team member is perfect.  However, it means that we maintain a commitment to our core values and philosophy even if things go wrong from time to time.

Each year, Ten-8 selects a corporate verse that sets the stage of our focus for the year.  For 2022, our corporate verse is Proverbs 16:3 (NLT) Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.  The book of Proverbs is known to be filled with practical lessons that help ensure success by aligning our decisions, behaviors, and attitude with God’s favor.  Proverbs 16:3 is very short and simple.  However, it is powerful when applied to our daily lives. Last year presented some extremely challenging obstacles for most.  These challenges impacted both our personal and professional lives.  As we enter January, it is encouraging to know that we still have the opportunity to establish plans that will set us up for success in the new year.

It is important to recognize that committing our plans to the Lord is more than just asking Him to bless our lives and businesses.  We must commit our actions to the Lord by aligning our daily behaviors with biblical principles.  This is the part we must remain focused on all year long, and the reason why Ten-8 chose Proverbs 16:3 as our verse for the year.  Life can be tough enough at times.  Add a pandemic, inflation, restrictions, shortages and many others to the mix and it can seem overwhelming.  However, there is good news!  We serve a God that is more than enough.  He is capable of meeting all our needs and helping our plans succeed.  Let’s be ready for God’s blessing in the new year by ensuring that our personal and professional actions are committed to the Lord.

Challenge: Set yourself up for success in the new year by committing your actions to the Lord.  Ensure your operating philosophy and core values are aligned with God’s word.  Be encouraged in the new year by remembering that our God is more than enough!

Have A Blessed 2022!
