Ten-8 Fire & Safety Equipment believes in giving our customers tools to do their jobs better. On June 3, 2014 we did just that with a “Lunch and Learn” event sponsored with the help of Pierce Manufacturing Inc. Hosted by the Alpharetta Fire Department, the event took place at the Roswell Training Center in Alpharetta, GA. The all-day event included two dynamic courses.
The first course was “Marketing Leadership for Fire and Rescue Services,” by Mr. Ben May. Ben focused on key factors in developing a successful marketing plan for fire departments and why it is so important for fire services to investment the time in a public communications plan. The second course was “Physical Fitness and the Fire Service” presented by Dr. Paul Davis. Dr. Davis covered the importance of physical fitness for fire departments, how to develop a successful fitness program, and more related to ensuring fire fighters are physically ready to meet the challenges they face each day on the job.
In addition to the great presentations, course attendees had the opportunity to meet with Ten-8 Sales and Service team members. Ten-8 representatives brought along some of the latest fire apparatus and fire equipment offered by Ten-8 and Pierce. This included the new MSA G1 SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus), Dekalb County’s new Arrow XT Pumper fire truck, and Alpharetta’s Air/Light Rescue and Velocity Pumper fire trucks.
With a continued commitment to our customer base, we are working to hold additional courses like this in the future. Please stay tuned to our blog and Facebook page for the latest event announcements. We also want to thank everyone that came out and participated in this week’s “Lunch and Learn”; it was a great course!
