Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing all shipping and receiving activities for the equipment division while lending support to the parts division where needed. This role ensures that incoming and outgoing materials are processed accurately, safely, and efficiently, supporting production, service, and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Shipping:
- Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company standards and carrier regulations.
- Generate shipping documents, bills of lading, and tracking information.
- Schedule pickups and coordinate with freight carriers and couriers.
- Inspect outgoing shipments to verify accuracy and condition of materials.
Receiving:
- Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Record and report any damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
- Tag, label, and store received items in designated inventory areas.
- Communicate with the Sales & Service teams regarding deliveries and discrepancies
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system (SAP).
- Assist with cycle counts and periodic physical inventory.
- Organize and maintain stock areas for efficient access and safe handling.
Equipment & Safety:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures, including PPE requirements and hazardous material handling.
- Keep shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty effectively. The qualifications outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are required. or preferred for this position.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or logistics training preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics (preferably in parts/equipment).
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient with ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
