Cairns® XF1 Fire Helmet
Growing in popularity, the XF1’s design reduces snag hazards and has the option of an integrated light module. Moreover, the soft goods are removable, washable, and replaceable, helping firefighters align with cancer awareness programs as written by the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN).

Metro/Modern Fire Helmets
Cairns® 660C Metro™ Composite Fire Helmet
The MSA Cairns® 660C Metro™ modern fire helmet is durable enough for structural firefighting, light enough for wildlands, and compact enough for EMS and confined space environments. Available with the popular retractable Defender Visor, which can easily be raised or lowered with a gloved hand, it is offered in seven paint colors (black, yellow, red, white, orange, blue and green).
Cairns® Invader 664 Composite Fire Helmet
The affordable Cairns Invader 664 Composite Fire Helmet offers solid protection and comfort. Known as the lightest structural fire helmet in the Cairns line, it comes in four colors (black, yellow, red, and white). The popular Defender Visor offers integrated and retractable eye protection which can easily be raised or lowered with a gloved hand. The 664 is also engineered for the best fit, including a headband that adjusts from 6 3/8″ to 8 3/8″ to properly fit a wide variety of head sizes.
All Metro fire helmets provided by MSA also include:
- The front headband of Metro fire helmets adjusts for proper SCBA mask integration.
- The impact cap provides superior debris and heat protection in the most extreme conditions.
- The patented shell release on Metro fire helmets allows one to easily escape from snag hazards while still providing impact cap coverage.
- The shell of the helmet is produced with non-corroding, through-color DuraGlas® fiberglass composite to resists cracking and chipping.
- Rugged, high-temperature (TPR) edge trim means it will not melt or drip on the job.

- A three-position rear ratchet height adjust results in a secure and comfortable fit.
- Replaceable and washable Nomex® or PBI/Kevlar® earlap are included for increased neck/ear coverage and protection. Replaceable and washable flannel, extended flannel or leather liners are included as well.

NFPA Compliant Bourkes Eye Shield for MSA Cairns® Fire Helmets
Bourkes Eye Shields have been in service for over 50 years. The side-wrapping and fireground-proven, anti-scratch coated, polyarylate lenses provide improved coverage and help protect the vision of firefighters. MSA now offers a NFPA-compliant Bourkes Eye Shield that is available for MSA Cairns 1010, 1044, and 880 Fire Helmets on the Traditional Fire Helmet ATO. These shields are built to withstand the heat of everyday structural firefighting environments, and are quickly stowable when not in use and easily deployable when needed.
NFPA-Compliant Bourkes lenses satisfy NFPA-1971 requirements for eye/face protection and do not require the addition of other eye/face protection.
