Industrial Parts Associate

SUMMARY:
The Parts Sales is responsible for accomplishing their objectives using proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, and pricing.
REPORTING: The position reports directly to Michael Lee, Regional Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed:
· Ensure total customer satisfaction to ensure a standard of customer service that exceeds customer and management expectations.
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel. · Handle incoming phone calls for retail parts sales. · Formulate and process sales orders for parts. · Purchase parts from vendors through the Purchase Order system and ship to retail customers. · Follow up on phone calls, part orders, returns, and shipments. · Identify parts of trucks (specifically refuse and fire trucks). · Assist customers in selecting the correct part(s) when the part number is not known. · Work closely with vendors to solve parts problems encountered by customers. · Assist in collection of receivables. |

LANGUAGE WRITING SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence. Ability to effectively and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Ability to work from oral and written instructions. Proficient verbal communication skills, in English, are required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: · A high school diploma or equivalent is required. · Minimum 2-5 years parts, with truck experience a plus. · Strong attention to detail with paperwork and all processing. · Computer literate. · Good listener with excellent phone skills. · Creative problem solver · Ability to read parts blueprints. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, algebra, and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variances in standardized specifications. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. · Must be able to manage time, cost and effort to ensure efficiency. · Must have excellent verbal and communications skills. · Must have a strong ability to multi-task. · Must be detail oriented. · Must provide excellent customer service. · Strong communication skills are required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. · Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. · Requires standing for approximately 50% of the time, sitting for about 25% of the time, and performing a combination of other activities for the remaining 25% of the time.
