ISP Supervisior

Description

SUMMARY:  The ISP Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ISP Division. Overseeing the cleaning, repairs, quality inspection, and delivery process of heavy-duty firefighting structural gear.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the cleaning, repair, & inspection of gear by assigning work, implementing policies, and operating procedures.
  • Responsible for staffing, training, and evaluating personnel in accordance with personnel policy. Reviews employee time & attendance, monitors staffing, overtime, and absenteeism.
  • Responsible for training and coaching employees.
  • Manages the business operating activities so that services provided are in a manner that meets all company policy, procedures & applicable to industry standards.
  • Meet production goals and project schedules.
  • Investigates and responds appropriately to all complaints and takes effective corrective action and involves the appropriate parties as necessary.
  • Maintains safe and efficient operations by monitoring employees, equipment safety, overseeing vendors and making appropriate recommendations for improving day to day operations.
  • Maintains comprehensive and accurate records.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of company annual and bi-annual third-party verification program.
  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems and deliver sound quality decisions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain equipment per company guidelines and develop a working knowledge for general repairs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are required.  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to create standard correspondence both written and verbal.  Ability to work from oral and written instructions.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Manufacturing or Production leadership experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, free of motor vehicle infractions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, algebra, and geometry.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence. Ability to effectively and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Ability to work from oral and written instructions. Proficient verbal communication skills, in English, are required.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variances in standardized specifications.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

  • Strong sense of urgency, follow-through, and diligence, including meeting deadlines.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and division needs.
  • Open and effective communicator with all levels of company and customers.

Ability to troubleshoot material specs, best practice & solutions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye wear, mask, and gloves.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and twist frequently.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

WORK POSITIONS (defined in 10% increments or work time):

Sitting:  40 % Standing: 30 % Walking: 30 %

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoors- Inside work has good ventilation and comfortable temperature.
