Supply Chain Manager

Description 

Summary

This role is crucial for ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse operations, and managing the end-to-end flow of materials, from procurement to customer delivery.  Must have proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives with strong knowledge of warehousing and logistics Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).  Demonstrate expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective inventory and logistics management strategies.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available to meet service center schedules while optimizing stock levels.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including shipping parts and materials for service and dispatching products to customers.
  • Oversee the scheduling, tracking, and documentation of shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Ensure ERP system information is current and accurate.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with shipping vendors to negotiate rates, monitor performance, and resolve issues.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal controls
  • Analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities, minimize delays, and improve efficiency.
  • Establish procedures to streamline the storage, handling, and replenishment of inventory.
  • Implement and document RMA processes and procedures.
  • Work with multiple service centers and sales teams over four states to help ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a safe and efficient work environment.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

An individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily to succeed in the position. The following requirements are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.

  • Must be willing to travel at least 50% of the time.
  • Must have a clean valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and ERP systems, SAP preferred, with a strong understanding of logistics operations.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations for warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Advanced level of knowledge in Microsoft Office products.

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory control, logistics, or warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence. Proficient verbal communication skills, in English, are required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form.  Ability to resolve problems and recommend improvements in all areas of responsibility. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must
be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to
lift/carry a maximum of 20 lbs.

Sitting: 30 % Standing: 30 % Walking: 40 %
